The compact Tucson comes three ways: a gas model from the SE to the trail-ready XRT, a 231-hp Hybrid rated up to 38 mpg combined, and a Plug-in Hybrid with 32 miles of electric range.
From $29,700 MSRP, 13 trims, Hybrid from $31,300, Plug-in Hybrid from $40,675
The Tucson Hybrid pairs a 1.6L turbo engine with an electric motor for 231 combined horsepower, more than the gas Tucson's 187, and up to 38 mpg combined. There is nothing to plug in: the battery charges itself as you brake and coast, so it fits a driveway without a charger or an apartment lot.
For Bangor-area driving that mixes stop-and-go on Stillwater Avenue with highway runs on I-95, a hybrid saves the most where gas engines waste the most, in town. AWD is available, and the hybrid battery has its own 10-year/100,000-mile Hyundai warranty.
The Plug-in Hybrid adds a larger battery you charge at home, good for an EPA-estimated 32 miles on electricity alone before it runs as a regular hybrid. Many daily round trips around Bangor, Brewer and Hampden fit inside that range, and longer drives to the coast or up to the County need no charging stop at all.
It makes the most sense if you can plug in overnight. Plug-in hybrids have qualified for Efficiency Maine instant rebates at the dealership, so ask us what applies on the day you buy.

The Tucson suits a lot of Maine households because it is big enough for a family and gear but easy to park downtown. The question is which powertrain: the gas 2.5L costs least up front, the Hybrid pays you back on fuel with more power, and the Plug-in Hybrid can run most local errands on electricity if you charge at home.
AWD is available across the lineup, which matters on unplowed side streets and camp roads. Pair it with a set of winter tires and the Tucson handles a Bangor winter well. Our service department on Haskell Road maintains gas, hybrid and plug-in Tucsons alike.

The 2026 Hyundai Tucson starts at $29,700 MSRP for the SE trim, and the Limited Plug-in Hybrid starts at $48,900. Prices exclude destination, tax, title and fees; Quirk Hyundai of Bangor lists its current offers on the specials page.
Yes. The Tucson Hybrid comes in 5 trims (SE Hybrid, SEL Hybrid, SEL Convenience Hybrid, Limited Hybrid, Night Hybrid), starting at $31,300 MSRP. It needs no charging: the battery recharges from the engine and from braking.
Yes. The Tucson Plug-in Hybrid comes in 2 trims (SEL Plug-in Hybrid, Limited Plug-in Hybrid), starting at $40,675 MSRP. Charge it at home to drive the first 32 miles or so on electricity; after that it runs as a regular hybrid, so range anxiety is not an issue.
2,750 lbs (gas); 2,000 lbs (Hybrid, Plug-in) when properly equipped, according to Hyundai. The rating depends on the powertrain and equipment, so ask Quirk Hyundai of Bangor for the rating of a specific vehicle.
2.5L 4-cylinder, 1.6L turbo hybrid or plug-in hybrid, with up to 187 hp (2.5L; 231 hp Hybrid, 268 hp Plug-in Hybrid).

If you can charge at home and most of your daily driving is under about 30 miles, the Plug-in Hybrid can cover it on electricity. If you can't plug in, or you drive long distances every day, the regular Hybrid is simpler and costs less up front.
Starting prices are the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for the base version of each trim and exclude destination, tax, title, license, registration and dealer fees. Specifications, fuel economy, electric range and towing are manufacturer figures and vary by configuration; electric range and hybrid fuel economy drop in cold weather.
